This English translation is provided for convenience only. The German version of this privacy policy is the legally binding one.
Welcome to the privacy policy of Rudergesellschaft Heidelberg 1898 e. V. – Rugby Department! As a rugby club, we support children, young people and “grown-up” athletes, representing German rugby, the sport of rugby in general, and its values:
This privacy policy applies specifically to our website for the Räuber Cup 2027 (raeubercup.com), the international youth rugby tournament that we host as RGH.
The core ideas of rugby are team spirit and fair play.
The will to win and the tough, sometimes hard-fought play are carried by respectful
conduct among everyone involved – on and off the pitch.
For us, that includes handling your privacy and your children’s privacy appropriately and respectfully. It’s therefore a given for us to process your personal data responsibly and transparently. This policy explains how we use and protect your personal data or that of your children, which we collect from you in connection with your membership at RGH, your participation in our sporting events and activities, or your visit to our website, and what rights you have in this regard.
We’re glad you’re interested in our privacy line-up. And just like on the pitch — please don’t hesitate to contact us if you have any questions about it. We’re always here to take your concerns seriously and help you.
Applicable Data Protection Law
As a German club based in Heidelberg, we process your personal data in accordance with the rules of the data protection law applicable in Germany. This is primarily the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the German Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG).
“Controller”
Controller: Rudergesellschaft Heidelberg 1898 e. V.
Address: Schurmanstraße 2, 69115 Heidelberg, Germany
Email: verwaltung@rgh-heidelberg.de
“Data Protection Officer”
Under the applicable requirements, we are exempt from the mandatory appointment of a data protection officer. These duties are carried out directly by the jointly authorised board members Dr. Thomas Paral, Bernd Gute, Kai Nagel and Sönke Hartung-Rey.
Purposes of Processing
Running the tournament: As the host, we collect and manage data for the planning, organisation and running of the Räuber Cup on behalf of RGH. This includes producing video recordings for match and performance analysis, as well as keeping statistics.
Public relations: We document the tournament and communicate news to participants, sponsors and the press. To do this, we create and use photo and video material. We only publish photos and videos of players, coaches, staff and members online with their consent — we always ask beforehand, and for minors, we ask their parents or guardians. As a rule, we publish photos and videos without naming individuals.
Collection of General Information When Visiting Our Website
When you access our website, information of a general nature is automatically collected (server log files): browser type, operating system, domain name of the internet service provider, and similar. This does not allow any conclusions to be drawn about you personally and is technically necessary for correctly delivering the website.
Cookies
This website does not itself set tracking or marketing cookies. For language selection, our multilingual website uses the functional pll_language cookie from the Polylang plugin. It stores your selected language for up to one year so that your preference is retained on later visits. We do not display a consent banner for this cookie. External services we embed, such as OpenStreetMap or Tournify (see below), may set their own cookies when used, over which we have no influence.
SSL Encryption
To protect the security of your data during transmission, we use encryption methods that meet current technical standards (e.g. SSL) via HTTPS.
Locally Hosted Fonts
To ensure a consistent appearance across browsers, we use the Anton, Barlow and Barlow Condensed typefaces. The font files are stored on our own web server and loaded directly from raeubercup.com. Loading these fonts does not establish a connection to Google Fonts servers.
Use of OpenStreetMap
On this website, we embed a map from OpenStreetMap to show the tournament venue. The provider is the OpenStreetMap Foundation (OSMF), 132 Mayfair, London W1J 5LE, United Kingdom. When the map loads, your browser transmits technical data (including your IP address) to the OSMF’s servers. OpenStreetMap does not set tracking cookies and does not create user profiles. OSMF’s privacy policy: wiki.osmfoundation.org/wiki/Privacy_Policy
Use of Tournify
We embed the schedule and live results via the provider Tournify (Tournify B.V., Oudezijds Achterburgwal 237, 1012 DL Amsterdam, Netherlands). The embedded live view does not load automatically when you open the schedule page: only when you click the button to load the schedule does your browser connect to Tournify and potentially to other services included by Tournify (such as analytics and statistics services). Technical data, including your IP address, may then be transmitted, and those services may set cookies. No registration or sign-up via Tournify takes place on our website — we only use the public live view of the schedule. Further information: tournifyapp.com/privacy-policy.php
Hosting
This website is hosted by IONOS. The provider is 1&1 IONOS SE, Elgendorfer Str. 57, 56410 Montabaur, Germany. We have a data processing agreement with IONOS under Art. 28 GDPR.
Your Rights as a Data Subject
You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, objection and withdrawal of consent, restriction of processing, and data portability. Please contact us at any time regarding these. In the event of a complaint, you may contact the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information (LfDI) in Stuttgart.
Handling Children’s Data
Protecting children’s privacy is especially important to us. We only collect personal data from children where necessary for participation and where consent from a parent or guardian has been obtained. Parents have the right to view, correct or delete their children’s data, or to withdraw their consent at any time.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We reserve the right to amend this privacy policy so that it always meets current legal requirements.
